Fund a Mom believes in women. We know that when women are empowered and determine their own future they radically improve families, communities, countries.
We’re starting in India with moms living in abject poverty and we are proving that a small monthly gift directed to women creates lasting impact. This is not a loan. It’s a promise. Mom to Mom. Mum to Mum. Mama to Mama. Join us.

Charities these days have become more like businesses and operate in a very paternalistic way to the people they are meant to serve.
There is also the the added problem of what happens when aid from the West runs out or is reduced which is happening currently under the Trump Administration with “America First”. When security is pulled out from under people it can lead to fatal results. Fund a Mom believes in giving monthly stipends unconditionally, to poor Indian women, letting them decide for themselves what they need to survive. Everyone is better off when they are self determined and can exist closer to their passions. Happiness and security is always a better determinant for success.
In India, without their husbands, widowed or deserted Mothers find it especially hard to survive.
Women in the “untouchable” caste face violence and discrimination and are thought to be impure. Human rights abuses against them are legion. Fund a mom will channel the blessings of Moms in the West who can afford to donate just $30 a month and will use it to lift women in the slums of India out of destitution. This project is designed to mirror the concept of a “universal basic income” which is being studied in various countries as an alternative way to help people who are suffering because of extreme poverty. We believe that our woman to woman, mom to mom initiative can achieve the extra benefit of women’s empowerment in a place sorely lacking in equal opportunity for women and girls. That is why Fund A Mom was born.
The idea of a universal basic income is around the corner.
Billionaires, the tech elite, cultural leaders and philanthropists are endorsing it. The left-leaning Roosevelt Institute found in an August study that giving every adult in the United States a $1,000 per month would grow the economy by $2.5 trillion by 2025. People would spend the money, powering up the economy, according to the study. Dr Martin Luther King was an advocate for a basic income and at the 100th Birthday celebrations of Nelson Mandela in South Africa recently President Barack Obama advocated for it too.
“Eliminating poverty is such a moral imperative and something that I believe in so strongly. There's so much research about how bad poverty is. There's so much research about the emotional and physical toll that it takes on people. I think about the amount of human potential that is being wasted by people that are not doing what they want to do. I think about how great it would be to undo that. And that's really powerful to me."
Sam Altman
“Mark my words, a universal basic income is coming”
Robert Reich
"With the acceleration of AI and other new technology ... the world is changing fast. A lot of exciting new innovations are going to be created, which will generate a lot of opportunities and a lot of wealth, but there is a real danger it could also reduce the amount of jobs. This will make experimenting with ideas like basic income even more important in the years to come."
Richard Branson
"If I had to support my family growing up instead of having time to code, if I didn't know I'd be fine if Facebook didn't work out, I wouldn't be standing here today. The greatest successes come from having the freedom to fail. Now it's our time to define a new social contract for our generation. We should explore ideas like universal basic income to give everyone a cushion to try new things."
Mark Zuckerberg
“There is a pretty good chance we end up with a universal basic income, or something like that, due to automation"
Elon Musk
So where are the women advocating for this?
Look in the mirror!
If we can make this successful in the most cash poor
place on earth – Mothers in the slums of India – then
it can be successful anywhere.
